We enjoyed the dinner last night. The food is tasty, the presentation is professional, clean and hygiene environment, friendly staff, good value food and price, I could see the restaurant pay their attention on their food and customer service. Have long time didn’t have such a warm and nice professional experience in a small restaurant, more than I expected. Well done and highly recommended. Definitely will go back and bring my friends next time.

Absolutely fantastic. Feels very much like restaurants in Japan, all the food was high quality, extremely delicious and beautifully presented. Everything was made fresh. We waited a while for food, however they were very busy and had only just opened! Regardless highly recommend a visit, worth the drive from Brisbane if you’re not a Sunnybank local. Based on the number of people there (full!) I would recommend making a reservation to avoid waiting. The only downside is there are no dessert options, but there’s some good spots nearby if you’re after dessert!

Generally excellent tasting food and beautiful presentation. The takoyaki tasted like it was reheated from a frozen packet though. Will definitely return to try the rest of the menu though!

Limited menu, nice quality! This is a lovely restaurant but there are limited choices on the menu if you’re trying to avoid deep fried food. The food we ordered was very good quality and well presented, but a little more expensive than the Japanese restaurant that we usually visit. The staff are really friendly and BYO is a plus!

Tokyo Chubo is located in Sunnybank and it has a really nice vibe. The menu is very simple and straightforward so we didn’t have to spend too much time trying to figure out what to get (which we usually do 😂) Here’s what we got: • Sushi Roll w/ Soft Shell Crab – $15 • Chirashi Rice Bowl – $25 • Katsu Rice Bowl – $15 The chirashi rice bowl also came with miso soup on the side. There was a nice variety of sashimi and the portion size was great! 🥰 The katsu chicken was honestly soo good! Probably one of my favourite latsu chickens ever! The outside was soo crispy but very soft at the same time and the meat was so juicy! 😍 Finally, the soft shell crab sushi was really nice too! The size of the rolls was pretty good and there was actual crab meat in there, which was good 😌 Highly recommend trying out this place if you haven’t already! 💯🙌

Went there for lunch and go back with happy tummy. Chirashi sashimi don was delicious and big slices of sashimi. Wife happy with the quality and freshness of fish. Curry pork katsu bento was delicious. The curry part is a bit too sweet for me. The coating for katsu was crispy and tasty. The side dish, like salad is all tasty including the miso soup. Will definitely comeback again in the future to try different menu.

Enjoyed lunch with a friend at the restaurant and we ordered a large sashimi, prawn tempura and a beef tataki. The dining experience was great, the tuna was the highlight of the meal for me. Do book for a table to avoid waiting for one.

Some of the best tasting udon noodles. The broth was so flavourful and delicious and the noodles were absolutely perfect, good mix of chewiness and softness. Can’t wait to work my way through the rest of the menu.

This place can get busy so make sure to book! I’ve dined here many times and can definitely recommend the sashimi – it’s always been fresh and of high quality. The Pork Katsu Bento is a regular order as well. I love that the katsu is perfectly crispy, with no sogginess which you can sometimes find. Everything is presented beautifully and service is warm.

I am craving for pork katsu for awhile and heard good things about @tokyo_chubo. Finally I visited there and NO LIE their pork katsu is crispy outside and tender inside 👌 SO GOOD Also Japanese food lover should put this place in the list. There are fresh Sashimi, Sushi rolls, Udon, Temlura, Teriyaki and many more. 😋 Definitely I will go back there for more. : : : #nutsjourney #japanese #Brisbane #porkkatsu

This charming restaurant offers astounding authentic japanese food. Despite the small selection, the quality of the food is divine and well presented. I always leave with a happy tummy. The waiters are so polite and welcoming. • chirashi roll x california roll • curry chicken karaage bento • tempura prawn udon for more foodie reviews follow @katey.thefoodie on instagram

The food was okay. We had a chirashi roll and salmon don. The chef looked knowledgeable when slicing salmon. I asked staff what’s IN chirashi. She said “assorted fish” so I asked her again. What kinds? She replied “it depends”. Can you either put more details on the menu or train your staff.

Amazing authentic Japanese food!! Although there’s a bit of a waiting time with food (especially with sushi dishes due to short of staff (?) ) i’ll still give 5 stars to the team who works incredibly hard to serve all their customers with smiles! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Tokyo Chubo is out of the way but well deserving of a visit. The food was very high quality, authentic and genuinely delicious. It’s a little busy during popular times so be prepared to wait ~10 minutes before seating. I had the vegetable tempura udon, sashimi moriawase (large) and the soft shell crab roll. The udon was so tasty, absolutely nail the texture of the noodle and soup flavour. The vegetable tempura was really good, the batter was nice, light and not ridiculously oily. I would certainly come back just for the udon, but the sashimi was the real show stopper. The meat was incredibly high quality with a nice selection of different fish. The soft shell crab roll was the most underwhelming, containing little meat itself but it was still a nice side to a main dish.

The most unique and impressive meal is the entree raw slice beef. Apart from that, rest meals on the menu are common bento or rice bowl. Also, too much pickle ginger in the rice bowl turns every ingredient in the bowl is too soul.

A humble restaurant situated at Sunnybank but away from the hustle and bustle of the more populated areas. The menu is Japanese inspired and original; but I’m quite confident they are run by a passionate Taiwanese team. Good quality food but the flavours could be improved if compared to Kakuson, etc. The only thing is the waiting times – it’s extraordinarily longer than usual. That, puts people off. Otherwise, it’s a place to visit for quite decent Japanese food. Plenty of parking in the precinct. Was

Good service and lovely food presentation. Sashimi was fresh and delicious but the beef tataki is an absolute recommendation from me! So good. 😋Could’ve had the nigiri platter on the table as well if they didn’t sold out 🥲. Guess we’ll have to come back again.😁🤤

Delightful and friendly restaurant. We made a booking on a Friday night but had to wait over 45mins for our food, place is very understaffed. Prices are a bit on the expensive side too. We’ve tried • Gyoza – not worth the price. There’s a good ratio of meat to pastry, good amount of crispness however it is quite salty • Nigiri & sashimi – very fresh and good quality. Made up really well so highly recommended

Kid-free night and where to eat? Tossed around a few options but finally decided to try Tokyo Chubo. We ordered: * sashimi salad, $19 * unatama roll, $15 * vegetable tempura, $19 The sashimi salad came with 3 pairs of sashimi pieces plus one cooked prawn – not sure why the prawn was so lonely but that’s all the protein I had whilst wifey enjoyed the fish. The salad element felt fresh and we found the dressing quite nice. The unatama (eel & egg) roll was smaller than I was expecting, but very nicely presented and the overall mouth feel was surprisingly smooth, like almost melts in your mouth. The tempura vegetables came with a mixture of shiitake(?) mushroom, enoki mushroom, pumpkin, sweet potato, and taro pieces. The batter was light with a bit of crunch. All up whilst the pricing was more than my usual more budget Japanese tendencies, the food was good quality and we were nicely satisfied portion wise from our 3 dishes. I would come back, but probably reserve it for the odd occasion when wanting something a little bit more special, eg. the next time we’re kid-free for the night.

Delicious Authentic Japanese food, a little pricey but totally worth. Service is ok, food took a while to be served but presentation is nice! Their Beef Tataki is beautifully seasoned, highly recommend! The Salmon Don was nice and fresh, and it also come with miso soup! (Soup was a little cold, but willing to give it another chance)

Seriously some of the best sashimi I’ve ever had in Australia! Up to par with the quality of fish that I’ve had in Japan. Very reasonably priced for the quality of food. The restaurant was a little busy and the food took a little bit of time to come out since they explained that they currently only had one sushi chef but the staff were so thoughtful they offered us some complimentary five spice calamari since we had to wait a little while. The food was 100% worth the wait, would definitely recommend to anyone who is after some top quality sushi/sashimi in Brisbane.

Good food. We ordered the takoyaki, spider roll and tempura prawn roll. The takoyaki came out relatively fast, not quite the size of the osaka takoyaki but tasted fairly authentic. However, there was only one guy making the sushi rolls (the restaurant is pretty small), so it took a while before the two sushi rolls came out (only 5 and 6 pieces per serve at $15 each roll). Above average to Good standard , but I wouldn’t drive from the northside to the south for this. If we did come come back I would probably try the other cooked dishes – Bento boxes, karaage, tempura, beef tataki – hot cooked dishes from the kitchen. What concerned me was the very poor social distancing…. risky business. Sorry those ladies and everyone on that row are clearly not 1.5m apart. Their chairs are virtually touching.

Execellent food, decent value bento boxes. The interior is a little bit bare and the way the tables are placed feels a bit exposed. Staff were friendly and attentive. Would come again.
